In 2017 we sunset a successful strategic plan that achieved major goals including the integration of physiotherapists in primary care and year round marketing initiatives promoting the profession.
As we look to the future we are pleased to announce the engagement of The Potential Group as strategic planning consultants to work with OPA to develop our plan as part of the overall collaborative planning by all components of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA). Danny Nashman and Catherine Creede of the Potential Group bring extensive experience in strategic leadership and have worked closely with health care organizations, professional associations, academic institutions and community organizations.
Building on the first ever CPA collaborative process, we will be engaging members and other stakeholders to set out OPA’s contribution to our shared national objectives and set out our goals for Ontario physiotherapists, our patients and the health system for the coming years. The plan will be finalized in January 2018 and will be followed by outreach to introduce the plan and engage members to accomplish our goals.
This is an exciting time for physiotherapy in Canada and Ontario in particular as new and emerging roles are developed for the profession, and health care system changes and adapts to meet future needs of Ontarians. We look forward to having the conversations that count and building on the innovations and leadership of our members to achieve our future vision.
